Children and Youth on the Move: Greece

In a collaborative effort, EPIM and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Bodossaki Foundation and the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation in Greece have dedicated a funding programme to the particularly urgent situation of unaccompanied and separated children and youth in Greece.

In 2016-2018, responding to the needs in Greece, the EPIM fund has supported civil society organisations in building safe structures and networks, in providing alternatives to detention and fostering individualised support and protection for children and youth transiting through and/or establishing their life in Greece, as well as in raising awareness of the issues concerning unaccompanied and separated children and youth.

In a second phase launched in 2019, EPIM, together with the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, aim to contribute to building strong child protection systems relying on quality alternative care approaches that foster the inclusion of children and youth on the move in Greece.
