Human dignity is a core value of our society and extends to everyone irrespective of immigration status. Funding in this focus area seeks to ameliorate the situation of undocumented migrants across Europe, with a particular focus on the possibility to access fundamental rights, services and justice. This is an area where funding is scarce and governments are reluctant to invest in a group in society which they are loathe to recognise formally. Nevertheless there is a high cost in denying the issue of undocumented migrants, and that this issue will continue to prevail.
EPIM has adopted a broad definition of undocumented migrants to ensure that those who fall between traditional funding strands – rejected asylum seekers or those at risk of becoming undocumented – can still benefit from the grantees’ work.
