Zakeera joined the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM) in March 2011. Previous to this she studied a Master of Science at the School of Oriental and African Studies in Migration, Mobility and Development and a BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Essex. Zakeera has been actively involved in unions, NGOs and various grass-roots organisations around the UK regarding issues of social justice and inequality. She is a native English speaker, with a working knowledge of French.
